Helambu Village Trek - 10 Days

Helambhu Village Trek offers nice view of some Langtang ranges Himalayas with Tamang villages, Sherpa villages and paddy fields.

Helambu Village Trek offers nice and attractive views of Langtang Ri Mountain, Annapurna, Fishtal Mountain and Helambu Village concerning Tamang and Sherpa community and people. This trek goes to northeast of Kathmandu valley bound on the north by a wall of 5,000m peaks is an interesting 7-days loop. Tamangs and Sherpas inhabit the Helambu region, which offers excellent views of Jugal Himal. The trek begins from Sundarijal, a Himalayan river-fed water reservoir and climbs onto the Shivapuri ridge offering gorgeous views of Gauri Shanker (7,134m), Langtang Lirung (7,246m) and Ganesh Himal (7,405m). Following a ridgeline the trail passes through Kutumsang (2,460m), the first permanently inhabited village of this course and climbs through cool rhododendron forests (crawling with leeches during monsoon) to Tharepati (3,597m), the highest point of the trek. The trail from Tharepati plunges 1,000m to a tributary of the Melamchi Khola and above it the aging village of Melamchi-gaon. The gompa set on the to Tarke Ghyang commands excellent views of Dorje Lakpa (6,996m) and Ganja La to the north. The next few days walk is through interesting Melamchi Khola valley to Talamarang and the paddy fields of Melamchi Pul Bazaar. From Melamchi Pul Bazaar, Kathmandu is a few hours drive via Panchkhal valley and Dhulikhel.

Helambu Village Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

Our trekking company representative welcomes you at airport and tranfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Tour or Trekking Preparation.

You visit some historical and cultural sight seeing points with Tour Guide.Tour Places are Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath and Swayambunath Monastery.

Day 03: Trekking from Kathmandu to Chisapani via Sundarijal.

Kathmandu to Sundarijal by overland drive and begins walking from Sundarijal to Chisapani. During this trekking trails one can enjoy with natural forest and Water Falls. This route takes 4 hours on foot to get to Chisapani.

Day 04: Trekking from Chisapani to Kutumsang

This trekking trails descend for about half an hour through some rice fields and small villages. Arrive Patibhanjyang and start gradual ascent through villages and forest. This walk from Patibhanjyang to Tharepati is one of the best ridge walks among the other treks in Nepal.

Day 05: Trekking from Kutumsang to Tharepati.

Kutumsang to Tharepati route is steep up and some times straigt forward too. This route ascend through villages and rhododendron forest with magnificent views which makes you enjoyable and relaxing.

Day 06: Trekking from Tharepati to Melamchi

Tharepati to Melamchi trekking route is turn right from Tharepati and descend to Malamchei, the first Sherpa village in the Helambhu area is a collection of neat houses fronted by prayer flags and surrounded by orchards and fields.

Day 07: Trekking from Melamchi to Sermanthang

Trekking trail drops down to Melamchi Khola  and climbs up to same heights to Tarkeghyang. There is a large restored Monastery (Gompa) here dating back to the early 18th century.  Then walk to another interesting Sherpa village to Shermathang.

Day 08: Trekking from Sermanthang to Melamchepul to Kathmandu

Sermathang to Kathmandu is last trekking day and this trekking route slowly climb down to Melamchipul and Melamchipul to Kathmandu is by overland transportation.

Day 09: Rest Day or Shopping in Kathmandu

Clients can take a rest this day because of long trekking journey or shopping gift for friend or family.

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu.

We see you off from Hotel.
